Kruger National Park: What to do when you get there?
Famous for being one of the largest game reserves in Africa, Kruger National Park is located alongside the border between South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
Kruger National Park is home to the very popular Big 5, five of the most renowned animals often sought out on African safaris; lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards and rhinoceros. The Big 5 is just one of the reasons why this national park is coveted as a top African holiday destination.
As well as safaris, outdoor activity enthusiasts can enjoy rafting, tubing, quad biking and ziplining as within close proximity of this iconic park full of exotic fauna and flora. The Sabie River thunders over massive waterfalls and rapids on its way into the Lowveld, making it an excellent playground for water sport lovers who can try rafting and even tubing in its fast paced waters. The rapids of Sabie River are classed as grade 2 and half way down the section you get the chance to jump off a 8 metre waterfall.
Those of you who really want to discover the stunning landscapes in and around Kruger National Park have to sign up for a guided quad biking tour. Not only will you get to see hard to reach places, but you’ll also find out much more about the various species you’ll see on your outing and about the local culture and history thanks to your expert local guide. Let’s not forget the thrills of zooming through the designated quad biking trails.
Maybe you’d prefer a bird’s eye view of the stunning national park and its surrounding areas? Then you simply must try the ziplining activity. You’ll be kitted up in the safest gear as you glide down a 450 metre long zipline at a speed of 100 km/h. Whether you’d like to be in a seated position or hanging from your back is entirely your choice – whatever makes the ziplining that much more exhilarating for you!
