Outside of Anchorage, in the vicinity of the beautiful Chugach Mountains and the stunning landscape of the Matanuska Valley you will get to play around on your paddlecraft of choice, a kayak or stand up paddleboard, learn a lifelong skill in doing so, and bask in the incredible scenery around you! Your kayak or stand up paddleboard (SUP) lesson will take place on the lovely Jim Lake, about an hour’s drive from Anchorage. After you meet your guide and get equipped, you will receive a safety and activity briefing and then begin your lesson! Once you feel comfortable kayaking or stand up paddleboarding on your own, you will then have time to explore the lake and connecting creek on your own, paddling and floating in blissful tranquility.
