- Drive to Hveravellir in the west highlands
- Visit the geothermal pool
- Continue driving to Kerlingarfjöll in the central highlands
- Hike at Kerlingarfjöll
- Stop for breaks
- Optional meal at the restaurant
- Return drive to the starting point in Akureyri
