Practical information

Course of events

- Arrival at the meeting point at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon (please arrive 15 minutes before the departure time)

- Meet your experienced guide

- Safety and itinerary briefing

- Receive your equipment (helmet, harness, and crampons)

- The adventure begins!

- Transfer to the departure point (approximately 25 minutes)

- Walk to the ice cave (approximately 5-20 minutes)

- Put on your equipment

- Introduction to caving and safety measures

- Explore the Falljökull Glacier caves

- Return to the original meeting point at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon

If you are driving from Reykjavík, the meeting point at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is located 370 km (230 miles) east of the capital and is situated near the main highway (number 1), across the road from Hótel Skaftafell.
When driving the ring road you will see a big lagoon with floating icebergs, the meeting point is there at the main parking lot next to the cafeteria.
