Practical information
On this excursion, you'll embark on a 2-hour quad tour to the black sand beach Sólheimasandur and the famous DC-3 plane wreck.
- Please arrive at the starting point in Vík 30 minutes before the activity start time
- Meet the guide and receive the equipment
- Safety briefing and driving instructions
- The 2-hour quad bike adventure begins!
- Drive to the Sólheimasandur black sand beach
- Visit the DC-3 plane wreck
- Drive to the Mýrdalsjökull Glacier and Dyrhólaey
- Pass by the Jökulsá River and Mount Heiðarhorn
- Return drive to the base camp in Vík
Quad drivers must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid car driver's license. Please bring the physical copy with you on the day of the activity.
Children or those without a licence will ride on the vehicle as a passenger.
Only one child is permitted per adult.
For this tour, you can choose to share the quad between two participants, with one driver and one passenger and the chance to switch during the excursion, or drive as a single rider (mandatory for groups with odd numbers).
